Not so ‘innocent’ muffins

A funky fact I found out just the other day and I have noticed when baking muffins anyway is, that muffins actually have a lot of carbs and sugar in them. They are definitely not as innocent nor as healthy as they look. They are a lot unhealthier than the Kit-Kat bars we buy in store.

So I found this lovely healthier muffin recipe on

Guilt free muffins


  •  1/2 cups wheat bran
  • 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup white grape juice concentrate
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 and 1/2 cups blueberries (or any other berries)


*Boil water and then add the fibre… allow to sit 10 minutes.

*Stir in flour baking powder, salt, juice and fruit.

*Scoop into 12 muffin cups with paper liners.

*Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 25 minutes
